Internet of Things (IoT) Technician/Manager (Hands-on), Suwanee, GA
The Internet of Things (IoT) Technician/Manager is responsible for system monitoring, incident management, capacity planning, vendor management and ensuring compliance with IT policies and industry standards. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT infrastructure, ensuring the smooth functioning of systems, networks, servers and software applications by managing their performance, maintenance and security. Maintain operational continuity and meet business needs. You will not be managing others, and you will be hands on at all times. This position is 100% Onsite and not open for Remote.
Internet of Things (IoT) Technician/Manager Responsibilities:
- You will not be managing others, and you will be hands on at all times.
- Infrastructure Management: Maintain IT and MES infrastructure including servers, network, machine and data collection and visualization, cloud connectivity to optimize performance and efficiency.
- System Monitoring: Monitor IT systems to identify and resolve issues promptly, minimizing downtime.
- Incident Monitoring: Lead incident response efforts to quickly diagnose, address and document IT-related incidents.
- Capacity Planning: Proactively access and manage IT capacity to meet future business demands.
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with third-party vendors to procure, implement and support IT solutions
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the IT budget to ensure cost-effective resource allocation.
- Security Management: Implement and maintain security protocols to protect data and systems from cyber threats.
- Disaster Recovery Planning: Develop and regularly update disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity in case of outages.
- Policy Development: Establish and enforce IT policies and procedures to comply with industry standards and regulations.
Internet of Things (IoT) Technician/Manager Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field.
- IT certifications like Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA).
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure including networks, servers, storage systems and cloud technologies.
- Proven experience in managing IT operations.
- Experience with SAP is a plus.
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Application experience for Microsoft Windows, Office, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks.
