Job description

Description

ย More Than Accounts Payable. Be a Trusted Financial Partner.

At Paul Davis Restoration of Southeast Wisconsin & Northern Illinois, we know that every successful project starts long before the work begins-and ends long after the crews leave. Behind every completed restoration project is an accounting team that keeps vendors paid, projects moving, and financial records accurate.

We're looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and taking ownership of their work. This isn't a high-volume data entry role. You'll partner closely with our Senior Accounts Payable Specialist while managing your own responsibilities across accounts payable, vendor management, reconciliations, sales tax, and project financial support.

If you're someone who enjoys organization, accuracy, and finding better ways to get things done, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

You'll play an important role in keeping our accounting operations running smoothly by:

  • Managing vendor and subcontractor invoices from receipt through paymentย
  • Preparing weekly payment runs and resolving invoice discrepanciesย
  • Reviewing invoice coding, approvals, and supporting documentationย
  • Preparing and validating monthly sales tax filingsย
  • Performing credit card and accounts payable reconciliationsย
  • Supporting project job costing, internal allocations, and financial closeout activitiesย
  • Partnering with project managers and operations to resolve financial questionsย
  • Assisting with vendor onboarding and maintaining vendor documentationย
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiencyย
  • Serving as a knowledgeable resource for accounts payable best practicesย
What Makes This Role Different?

Unlike many AP positions, this role offers the opportunity to:

  • Own meaningful accounting responsibilities beyond invoice processingย
  • Work closely with operations to support project profitabilityย
  • Gain exposure to construction and restoration accountingย
  • Participate in process improvement initiativesย
  • Continue developing your accounting career alongside an experienced Senior AP Specialistย
What We're Looking For

You may be a great fit if you have:

  • 3+ years of Accounts Payable or accounting experienceย
  • Strong understanding of AP processes and account reconciliationsย
  • Experience working with general ledger transactionsย
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skillsย
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilitiesย
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skillsย
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracyย

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience preparing sales tax returnsย
  • Construction, restoration, manufacturing, or project-based accounting experienceย
  • Job costing experienceย
  • QuickBooks or similar accounting software experienceย
Why Paul Davis?

When people experience fire, water, storm, or other property damage, they trust Paul Davis to help restore their homes and businesses. Behind every successful restoration is a team of professionals working together to support our customers-and that includes our accounting team.

Here you'll find:

  • A collaborative, team-oriented cultureย
  • Opportunities to expand your accounting knowledgeย
  • Stable, growing organizationย
  • Meaningful work supporting communities throughout Wisconsin and Northern Illinoisย

If you're looking for an accounting role where accuracy, ownership, and continuous improvement matter, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today and help us keep our business moving forward.
