At a Glance:

H&P is seeking an Investor Relations professional to take a hands-on, highly visible role at the center of the company's engagement with the investment community. Reporting to the Vice President of FP&A and Investor Relations, this individual will own core operational and analytical pillars of the IR function - including earnings materials, the investor engagement calendar, and day-to-day analyst and shareholder relationships - with direct exposure to senior management.

This is a strong next step for an experienced IR professional ready to run significant pieces of the function independently, or for an investment banking or equity research professional looking to move in-house into a corporate leadership role.

This position offers genuine ownership of core IR deliverables from day one, direct visibility with the CFO and executive team, and a clear path to grow within the investor relations and broader finance function.

What you will do:

  • Earnings materials - Support the VP of FP&A & IR in the earnings process, including drafting and coordinating earnings releases, scripts, presentation decks, and supporting materials in partnership with FP&A, Legal, and executive leadership.

  • Investor calendar - Build and manage the investor engagement calendar, including quarterly earnings logistics, non-deal roadshows, investor conferences, and management access programs. Accompany the management team at investor events

  • Street engagement - Serve as a regular point of contact for sell-side analysts and institutional investors, fielding inbound inquiries and helping shape the narrative around company strategy and performance.

  • Market intelligence - Track sell-side estimates and manage the consensus model, monitor peer and sector developments, and prepare briefing materials for the VP of FP&A & IR, CFO, and CEO ahead of investor interactions.

  • Content ownership - Help maintain the IR website, shareholder letters, fact sheets, and other recurring investor-facing content.

  • Targeting and Surveillance - Act as a key partner to the VP of FP&A & IR on shareholder targeting, perception studies, shareholder surveillance and board-level reporting on investor sentiment.

  • Special projects - Represent IR in cross-functional projects and studies with Strategy, FP&A, and Treasury tied to capital markets activity.

  • People Leadership - Directly supervise Investor Relations & Sustainability personnel and provide leadership aligned with Company values. Manage workload planning and resource allocation across the Investor Relations function.

What you need:

  • 5-10+ years of relevant experience in investor relations, investment banking, equity research, or a closely related capital markets role.

  • Direct exposure to earnings cycles, financial modeling, and capital markets communications; energy or energy-adjacent sector experience strongly preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the judgment to operate independently and represent the company externally.

  • Bachelor's degree required; CFA or MBA a plus, though not required for the right candidate.

  • High degree of ownership and comfort operating with autonomy in a fast-paced, senior-facing environment.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a candidate who has operated as a strong #2 or #3 within a corporate investor relations team, or who brings comparable external experience and is ready to step into a senior IR seat. Backgrounds we're particularly interested in include:

  • In-house IR - Corporate IR professionals who have run significant pieces of the earnings cycle and investor calendar and are ready for broader ownership.

  • Investment banking - Professionals from investment banking (coverage or capital markets) looking to transition in-house, with strong modeling, communication, and executive-presence skills.

  • Equity research - Analysts or associates from large energy-focused research houses who know the sector, the investor base, and how the Street thinks about names like H&P.

What we offer:

At H&P, our commitment to our people is at the forefront, and that includes benefits that provide employees a sense of health and financial security. We know that life continues outside of employment and actively caring of our people is our priority.

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance

  • Flexible Spending or Health Savings Accounts

  • 401k match

  • Paid Leave Plans

  • Parental & Adoption Benefits

  • Disability Coverage

  • Employee Assistance Program

  • Educational Assistance

  • Learning & Development Opportunities

  • Flex-scheduling available for qualifying positions to achieve work-life integration

The job level and associated compensation for this position will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and alignment with the role's requirements. Final compensation for this role may vary depending on individual factors.

H&P is committed to employing a diverse workforce. Qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, veteran status, or disability.

Thank you for your interest in joining our team!
