Under the close supervision of the Training Supervisor, the Claims Adjuster Trainee performs essential functions within a structured trainee classroom environment to develop the skills and knowledge required to investigate, evaluate, and resolve automobile claims. This entry-level position combines comprehensive classroom instruction with practical, hands-on experience to ensure proficiency in all aspects of claims adjudication.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Successfully complete all assigned claims training programs in a classroom setting while demonstrating a solid understanding of the training material by achieving a cumulative score of 85% or higher on graded scenarios, quizzes, and the final exam;

2. Maintain a high level of professionalism and consistently adhere to all company policies and procedures;

3. Engage actively in learning sessions, demonstrating a clear understanding of the material covered;

4. Investigate automobile claims thoroughly to gather relevant information;

5. Evaluate claims to determine their validity and potential payout based on policy terms and conditions;

6. Resolve automobile claims efficiently and in a timely manner, ensuring customer satisfaction;

7. Ensure ongoing adjudication of claims within company standards, industry best practices and all state and federal regulations;

8. Stay updated on changes in regulations and company policies;

9. Document all investigations, evaluations, recommendations, and action plans accurately;

10. Maintain detailed and organized records in the claims management system;

11. Produce grammatically correct and clearly written correspondence including letters, memos, reports and claim file documentation;

12. Communicate effectively with claimants, policyholders, and other stakeholders through written and verbal means;

13. Must maintain regular attendance and punctuality throughout the training program, avoiding unexcused absences or tardiness;

14. Perform other duties as necessary to support the claims department and organizational goals;

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

1. A 2 or 4 year college degree or at least 1 year of industry experience;

2. Must have strong verbal communication skills when interacting with customers, agents, and both internal and external customers over the phone;

3. Must possess strong written communication skills for preparing clear, concise, and accurate documentation;

4. Demonstrated ability to type at least 35 words per minute with a maximum of five errors;

5. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume call center environment with frequent background noise;

6. Must be able to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively;

7. Must have a solid foundation of personal organization, sound decision making and analytical skills;

9. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities simultaneously;
