OVERVIEW OF THE COMPANY

Fox TV StationsFOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network's national content.JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Reporter (Investigative)

FOX6 Milwaukee is looking for an inquisitive, innovative reporter skilled at uncovering stories that need to be told. If you're passionate about taking the lead in the in the market and asking questions others might not think of, this job will check all your boxes. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Digital First: Prioritize digital and social media content by being a regular contributor to our streaming efforts, podcast co-hosting, and driving short-form video content creation featuring and supporting investigative work

  • Investigative Reporting: Focus on digging into big stories, developing sources, and turning content 1-3 times per week

  • Conduct Research: Analyze court records and file public records requests to uncover new content and information that is important to the Milwaukee DMA

  • Live Skills: Showcase strong LIVE reporting skills and the ability to communicate complex stories in creative, digestible ways

  • Collaboration: Work cohesively with streaming, digital and linear producers, photojournalists, editors and news managers

  • Team Player: We want the type of person who strives to lead the broadcast and break the mold while always prioritizing team interest over self-interest

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field with a minimum of 4 years' reporting experience in a commercial television news operation

  • Vision: A passion for storytelling and a consistent track record of bringing "big ideas" to editorial meetings with a vision for TV, digital, and streaming delivery

  • On-Air Presence: Strong on-air skills both in the field and in studio, with a proven ability to ad-lib and handle breaking news situations with ease including handling unscheduled, spot interviews

  • Technical Proficiency: Newsroom computer and related software skills and digital editing skills preferred.

  • Drive: A relentless pursuit of excellence and a commitment to aggressive reporting, must be a self-starter, organized, and excel with time management

Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
