Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory Manager to support material management operations across our manufacturing facility. This role will be responsible for inventory control, shipping and receiving activities, material tracking, warehouse organization, and maintaining accurate inventory records to support production and project delivery schedules. This position provides an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in manufacturing operations, supply chain, and inventory management. The Inventory Manager will work closely with purchasing, production, project management, and installation teams to ensure materials are available when needed while maintaining efficient inventory processes and warehouse operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials, components, and supplies against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Inspect incoming shipments for defects, damage, and correct specifications and quantities.
  • Maintain inventory records and perform routine cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Track inventory levels in the shop and office and communicate material shortages, discrepancies, or replenishment needs to the purchasing and operations teams.
  • Coordinate all shipping activities, including packaging, labeling, freight scheduling, and preparation of shipping documentation.
  • Organize and maintain warehouse, storage, and staging areas to ensure safe and efficient material flow.
  • Issue materials to production team and accurately track inventory usage throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Monitor inventory transactions within inventory management systems.
  • Work closely with purchasing and production management teams to ensure materials arrive on schedule to support production and installation deadlines.
  • Investigate inventory variances and implement corrective actions to improve inventory accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for inventory control, receiving, storage, and shipping processes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, organization, inventory accuracy, and workplace safety.
  • Maintain compliance with company safety policies and commitment in creating a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
  • Responsible for annual physical inventory counts and inventory audits.
  • Maintain a positive, can-do attitude and contribute to a team-oriented culture focused on quality and customer satisfaction.


Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Associate degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Logistics, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • 1-3 years of inventory control, warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, manufacturing, logistics, or related experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
  • Basic understanding of inventory management principles and warehouse operations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with ERP, inventory management, or warehouse management systems is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, suppliers, and internal team members.
  • Process-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to respond quickly to production and project needs.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining accountability for inventory accuracy and warehouse organization.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and move about the shop.
  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 80 pounds.
  • Must be able to safely use a ladder.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift.
