Job description

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our finance team in The Woodlands, Texas. This role will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting close activities, and helping ensure reliable reporting across the organization. The ideal candidate brings strong general ledger knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to manage detailed accounting work in a fast-paced food and food processing environment.


Responsibilities:

• Monitor daily cash movements, complete bank reconciliations, and research variances tied to receipts, payments, and banking activity.

• Record accounting transactions by preparing journal entries for accruals, prepaid items, intercompany activity, and other standard or non-routine postings.

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts each month and resolve outstanding items promptly to maintain clean and accurate records.

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles by ensuring financial activity is captured correctly and submitted within reporting deadlines.

• Compile sales and use tax data and provide support for tax filings and related compliance requirements.

• Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation and work with external auditors during annual audits and other review procedures.

• Analyze large volumes of financial information using Excel and accounting systems to produce reports and support informed decision-making.

• Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, retirements, depreciation, and periodic inventory reconciliation activities.

• Uphold the accuracy of the general ledger and contribute to special accounting assignments and process-related projects as needed.
