Job description

Job Title: Senior Material Planner

Job Location: Mirabel, QC

Job Code: MLP4

Job Schedule: Day Shift

Compensation Range: Between $70,000 - $120,000 CDN annually

As Senior Materiel Management Planner, you will be responsible for the definition and implemantation of improvement projects related to the wharehouse as well as the receiving and shipping sectors. He or she will also play a role in optimizing inventory management as well as process optimization. 
He or she will ensure that processes are documented to standardize practices and will also be responsible for developing and implementing performance indicators.
He or she will work in close collaboration with the warehouse manager and his team but will also work with several different functions (Program, Procurement, Production, and Finance) in order to meet our customers' requirements (quality / schedule / cost). He or she may also be involved in a multi-site context.

Essential Functions: 

With the help of the store manager as well as information available from various sources, identify and implement improvement projects:

Conduct various analyses and make recommendations to optimize inventory management and storage space;
Using reports, ensure the quality of inventory data (e.g., validity, accuracy, inventory location, erroneous transactions);
Lead the development, implementation, and communication of the different processes related to the store as well as the receiving and         shipping departments;
Document the various procedures and task aids related to the processes to ensure compliance in task execution;
Drive the implementation of improvement initiatives targeting the store as well as the receiving and shipping departments;
Monitor the different stages of plan execution on a daily basis with the various stakeholders;
Develop and maintain performance indicators related to the store;
Communicate project progress to internal/external clients and keep action lists up to date;
Lead the development and implementation of various material management strategies and processes across all multisite operations;

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management or Industrial Engineering, or an equivalent qualification;
  • Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience in materials management;
  • Knowledge of supply chain concepts and processes, as well as inventory management;
  • Knowledge of SAP is an asset;
  • Very good command of the Microsoft Office suite required;
  • Excellent communication skills in both French and English;
  • Teamwork, initiative, flexibility, stress management, and customer service-oriented behavior are essential;
  • Advanced Excel proficiency;
  • Strong analytical skills.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be eligible for registration with the Controlled Goods Program;
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a government of Canada Reliability status and Secret Level 2/NATO Secret security clearance;
  • Must be eligible to meet the requirements for U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
