Job Purpose

The Inventory Clerk involves material handling, production posting, cycle counting, and inventory reconciliation. They will be involved in understanding shipping and receiving as well as all aspects related to inventory movement and consumption and must have a great deal of problem-solving and analytics to get to the root cause of any inventory discrepancies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of tasks is illustrative only and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by this position. Persons in this position will perform all other tasks as assigned and work overtime as required.

  • Participate in daily cycle counts, annual physical inventory, and resolve variances.
  • Have analytical mindset to work through data and determine gaps and opportunities.
  • Have comfort with communication across all levels.
  • Use system tools to ensure reporting of issues and tracking progress to improve (HeyDo).
  • Investigate cycle count variances to try and resolve root of the issue and put corrective action in place with all team members.
  • Ability to operate forklift, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move materials.
  • Create work instructions for new processes.
  • Follow standards of 5S and organization.
  • Understand bill of materials and how they interact with inventory demands.
  • Willingness to train, share knowledge, cross-train and understand flow of materials.
  • Complete production and scrap postings every day.
  • Participate in A3, RIE, and EOS initiatives.
  • Assist in maintaining the security and safety of the company's facilities.
  • Flexibility in hours/overtime as necessary.
  • Able to frequently bend, twist, reach, stoop, kneel or crouch.
  • Ability to lift and move boxes/carts over 30 lbs.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED.
  • Minimum of one year of related materials or inventory experience.
  • Good numerical analysis and accurate counting capabilities a must.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and enterprise resource planning systems required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of lean manufacturing, ISO quality procedures, and bill of materials. Working knowledge of cycle counting, FIFO, Kan Ban, supplier quality, and inventory management preferred.
