Inventory Control Specialist (Entry Level)
Department: Warehouse / Operations
 

Position Summary
The Inventory Control Specialist supports accurate tracking of raw materials, packaging components, and finished dietary supplement products in a cGMP-regulated manufacturing facility. This role ensures proper lot traceability, material identification, and stock accuracy to support production, quality, and fulfillment operations. This is an entry-level role ideal for someone detail-oriented who wants to learn, contribute and grow with an expanding manufacturer.


Key Responsibilities
Inventory Accuracy & Tracking
  • Perform daily cycle counts of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods
  • Assist with weekly, and monthly physical inventory audits
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and report findings to supervisors
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in our inventory management systems
Material Control (cGMP Focus)
  • Verify lot numbers, expiration dates, and material labels
  • Ensure materials are properly identified with status labels (Quarantine, Released, Rejected)
  • Support lot traceability requirements for regulatory compliance
  • Ensure proper storage conditions are maintained for ingredients and packaging
  • Coordinate with Quality for material status changes
Receiving & Transfers
  • Assist in verifying incoming materials against purchase orders
  • Support staging and movement of materials to production areas
  • Record internal transfers between warehouse, production, and QC areas

Organization & Storage
  • Maintain clean and organized warehouse storage areas
  • Ensure materials are stored in designated locations
  • Follow FIFO/FEFO inventory practices
Documentation & Compliance
  • Complete inventory logs and documentation accurately
  • Follow SOPs, safety procedures, and cGMP requirements

Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow written instructions and SOPs.
  • Dependable, organized, and team oriented.
Preferred
  • Previous warehouse, inventory, or manufacturing experience.
  • Exposure to dietary supplements, food, or pharmaceutical environments.
  • Familiarity with inventory systems or ERP software.
  • Forklift or pallet jack experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and move materials (up to 50 lbs).
  • Ability to stand, walk, and work in a manufacturing or warehouse environment for extended periods
