Biewer Wisconsin Sawmill is looking to add a Full Time Inventory Control Specialist in our team in Prentice, Wi. The main responsibilities will be to ensure comprehensive inventory control of lumber materials. Inventory Control Specialist Summary:

Ensure comprehensive inventory control of lumber materials by performing daily cycle counts, location audits, and targeted recounts to ensure data accuracy and resolve stock discrepancies.


Inventor Control Specialist Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct and submit daily cycle counts of lumber material for review and reconciliation.


Correctly match the bay markers to material placed in that specific bay.


Operate a forklift to move lumber material to the correct bay or location as needed.


Assisting the inventory team with projects and initiatives. Participate in annual physical inventories.


Inspect and report quality or inventory issues with products. Verify correct labeling on product.


Assist in maintaining inventory and research tag history to determine root cause of inventory discrepancies.


Verify stock rotation for first in-first out.


Count inventory based on weekly goals.


Utilize scanning device and computer. Navigate internal system for tracking and to add or remove material or packs and make adjustments.



Inventory Control Specialist Basic Qualifications:

Language skills to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.


Computer proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Docs and ability to navigate and acquire skills to use internal systems.


Ability to speak effectively and professionally to customers or employees of an organization.


Mathematical skills with the ability to calculate figures and amounts using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.


Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


Inventory Control Specialist Education, Experience, and Certifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.


Previous lumber yard experience and understanding of lumber manufacturing and product flow preferred.


Work Environment:

Exposure to bark, sawdust, and fluctuating seasonal temperatures (hot, cold, humid).


Work is performed 90% in outdoor lumber yard areas and 10% in an indoor office setting.


This safety-sensitive position requires employees to comply with all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and required drug and alcohol testing procedures.


Physical Demands:

Stand or walk for extended periods (8-12-hour shifts).


Climb and descend steps, stairways, or ladders several times per shift.


Lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. regularly and use hand tools.


Use hand tools.
