Job Summary
MacLean-Fogg is hiring a Materials Control Manager at our Chesterfield, Michigan manufacturing facility. In this role, you will lead inventory control operations, strengthen material availability and supplier coordination, and develop the materials control team to support efficient manufacturing operations.

What You'll Do as a Materials Control Manager
  • Lead materials control operations and determine material quantities needed to support master production scheduling and operational requirements.
  • Oversee and administer cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy, appropriate ordering, and reliable inventory levels.
  • Identify and resolve inventory and material supply issues by investigating root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Review trends across purchasing, materials management, suppliers, and storage to improve inventory operations and efficiency.
  • Support financial cost-containment efforts by minimizing inventory loss, conducting root-cause analysis, managing inventory turnover, and optimizing space requirements.
  • Represent the organization's inventory needs in supplier relationships and help maintain reliable material supply.
  • Supervise and mentor materials control staff, providing training and guidance to strengthen performance, efficiency, and professional development.
  • Use ERP systems to maintain accurate inventory data and reporting; partner with production, logistics, and quality teams; manage inbound inventory receipt and reconciliation; and develop or improve inventory management procedures and policies.

  • Basic math proficiency for inventory management and reporting calculations.
