Job description

SUMMARY
At Magnolia, the Production Associate is responsible for executing recipes in the quantities and priorities set by Magnolia Kitchen management, including baking, icing, prepping, cooking, dishwashing, and cleaning. Production Associates may also assist with other Magnolia Foods business entities as business requires. This position works from Silos Magnolia Kitchen in Waco, Texas. It reports to the Magnolia Kitchen Manager and has no supervisory responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Follow written instructions for all recipes, adhering to Magnolia standards of quality and sanitation
  • Prepare ingredients for each recipe by chopping, dicing, slicing, washing, and using additional techniques as needed
  • Ensure the highest standards of product quality and alert management to the need to make adjustments to processes as required
  • Maintain a clean working environment at all times and maintain appropriate storage of all utensils and supplies*
  • Handle, prepare, and store food in ways that prevent foodborne illnesses and ensure compliance with all food safety standards*
  • Finish all product to specific visual requirements in accordance with Magnolia standards
  • Ensure kitchen equipment is properly cleaned and maintained*
  • Participate in all meetings and training sessions to ensure current knowledge of kitchen operations
  • Assist in training and development of team members
  • Complete production sheets and other records as required
  • Finish opening and closing duties as instructed
  • Communicate with management regarding status of products, quality control issues, problems with equipment, or unusual conditions; adhering to established loss prevention and inventory control procedures*
  • Contribute to a positive team environment, including giving and receiving feedback and assisting in other Silos Foods entities as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and arms to reach, handle, feel; utilize fine motor dexterity of fingers; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is expected to utilize team lifting techniques when lifting bulky items or items weighing above 50 pounds and up to 120 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee operates in a fast-paced kitchen environment. The employee routinely uses sinks, ovens, and tools to clean kitchen appliances. The employee is frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbage disposals, and cleaning chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
