Kemco Aerospace Overview
Kemco Aerospace is a manufacturing organization working closely with large aircraft and weapon systems OEMs, such as Boeing Defense, Bell, RTX/Collins Aerospace, Northrop Grumman and several others to deliver complex design-to-build and build-to print assemblies. Kemco Aerospace provides these assemblies in support of in-service platforms, such as: H-47, V-22, F-35, F-15, F-16, F-18, KC-135, E-2, and weapon systems such as Harpoon and SLAM-ER. Kemco Aerospace is part of the Crestview Aerospace family which is comprised of two (2) manufacturing sites, with operations in St. Louis, Missouri and Crestview, Florida, and employs approximately 350 professionals.
Principal Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
  • Maintain an organized tool room, ensuring accurate inventory records, safe care of materials, and a safe working environment
  • Manage tool and consumable stock levels, including replenishment requisitions, reordering broken or depleted tools, and calibration service orders
  • Receive, identify, unpack, label, store, and distribute materials and tooling throughout the facility, including loading and unloading from trucks
  • Perform and oversee physical and cycle inventory counts, reconciliation, and investigate count discrepancies and quality non-conformance issues related to tooling
  • Source materials, supplies, and services to support operational requirements, including development of RFQ/RFI/RFPs, proposal review, negotiation, contract execution, and supplier selection
  • Develop and monitor category strategies, tactical plans, and cost reduction initiatives for assigned commodities
  • Analyze market dynamics, price trends, and supplier data to establish price objectives and determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and schedule requirements
  • Develop and manage effective supplier relationships, including resolution of price, quality, delivery, and invoice issues
  • Monitor supplier performance and collaborate with the Quality team to develop remediation plans as needed
  • Communicate material shortages and potential supply problems to Manufacturing and Purchasing; maintain promised deliveries to schedule
  • Support Manufacturing, Assembly, and Inventory Control on workflow issues; update work orders, logs, serial numbers, queue sheets, and other tracking systems
  • Track and report cost improvement results for assigned categories
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects to streamline operations and program management

Professional Requirements, Qualifications & Desired Competencies
  • Associate's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a closely related field preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and directly applicable work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Coursework or certification in Logistics, Materials Management, or Quality Systems is a plus
  • 2+ years of experience in aerospace, defense, or government-regulated manufacturing (AS9100 or equivalent environment)
  • Experience sourcing and negotiating with suppliers, including development and evaluation of RFQs, RFIs, and RFPs
  • Experience supporting manufacturing floor operations, updating work orders, queue sheets, and ERP/MRP tracking systems

Physical Requirements:
Primarily manufacturing/assembly environment. Must be able to work in the following environmental conditions: noise, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current. Must be able to bend and reach. Must have close visual acuity such as viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines, and/or assembly or fabrication parts at close distance to the eyes. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be able to maneuver up to 20 pounds. Will be performing substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
