Position Summary

The Inventory Control Supervisor is a working leader who owns the inventory control function within Allied Medical's medical device manufacturing facility - getting into the details daily alongside the team, not managing from a distance. This role is responsible for running the cycle count program, executing and overseeing daily inventory transactions, and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of all stocked components, raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods. The Supervisor directly leads a team of inventory and cycle count personnel, rolling up their sleeves to troubleshoot discrepancies, tighten processes, and drive continuous improvement on the floor. Regulatory compliance with FDA 21 CFR Part 820 and ISO 13485 requirements for traceability and control is non-negotiable in this role. We're looking for someone who has personally built and owned inventory processes and teams and who takes hands-on accountability for results.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Supervision

• Supervise, schedule, and develop a team of cycle count specialists and inventory control associates, including assigning daily count workloads and priorities.
• Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback; conduct performance reviews and support hiring and onboarding of inventory staff.
• Foster a safety-first, compliance-driven culture and ensure adherence to all company policies and SOPs.

Inventory Control & Cycle Count Program

• Own and manage the Allied Medical cycle count program, including count frequency, scheduling, and methodology across raw materials, components, WIP, and finished goods.
• Oversee daily inventory transactions and ensure accurate, real-time recordkeeping in the ERP system.
• Review and approve count discrepancy investigations; authorize inventory adjustments within established thresholds and escalate material variances to the Director of Operations.
• Coordinate with warehouse, production, and quality teams to minimize operational disruptions during count activities.

Inventory Accuracy & Compliance

• Maintain inventory accuracy rates at or above established KPI targets (e.g., =98% location accuracy) and report performance to management.
• Ensure lot traceability and expiration date monitoring for regulated materials, including sterile components and critical raw materials.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, and internal quality management system requirements.
• Serve as the inventory control point of contact during internal and external audits, providing cycle count records, variance reports, and process documentation.

Root Cause Analysis & Continuous Improvement

• Lead root cause analysis of recurring inventory discrepancies and drive cross-functional corrective and preventive actions.
• Track, analyze, and report cycle count and inventory accuracy metrics; present findings and trends to management on a regular basis.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy, labeling, storage, and material flow processes.
• Develop, revise, and maintain cycle count SOPs, work instructions, and training materials.

Collaboration & Communication

• Partner with Materials Planning, Procurement, Quality Assurance, and Production teams to resolve inventory issues promptly.
• Support new product introductions and engineering change orders (ECOs) by overseeing inventory transitions and label changes.
• Plan and lead annual physical inventory preparation and execution.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, or related field strongly preferred.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of inventory control, cycle counting, or warehouse experience required.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory or lead experience managing inventory or warehouse personnel required.
• Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (medical device, pharmaceutical, aerospace, or food & beverage) strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent) required.
• Working knowledge of FDA 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, or GMP regulations strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Stand, walk, and move throughout the warehouse and production floor for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift).
• Lift and carry up to 30 lbs. unassisted; up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
• Operate manual pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material handling equipment.
• Work in varied environments including temperature-controlled storage areas.
• Use a computer workstation and handheld scanning devices regularly.

Work Environment

• Primarily warehouse and manufacturing floor setting
• PPE required in designated areas (safety shoes, safety glasses, gowning)
• Standard day shift with occasional overtime during month-end close, audits, or physical inventory events
