Job Title: Inventory & Materials Handler
Department: Operations / Materials Management
Reports To: Receiving Supervisor
Location: Union, MO


Position Summary

The Inventory & Materials Specialist is responsible for overseeing the flow, accuracy, and availability of raw materials, components, and finished goods within the manufacturing plant. This role ensures production has the materials required to meet schedules, maintains accurate inventory records, and supports continuous improvement in material handling, storage, and logistics processes.


Key Responsibilities

Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate inventory levels for raw materials, and workinprogress
  • Perform regular cycle counts and support full physical inventories.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
  • Monitor inventory transactions in the ERP/MRP system and ensure proper documentation.

Materials Coordination

  • Issue materials for production orders and ensure timely replenishment of production lines.
  • Track and stage materials according to production schedules.

Logistics & Warehouse Operations

  • Organize and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient warehouse environment.
  • Ensure proper labeling, storage, and handling of materials according to company standards.
  • Pallet jacks, and materialhandling equipment safely (training provided if needed).

Production Support

  • Communicate daily with production supervisors regarding material needs or issues.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts (5S, lean initiatives, waste reduction).

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of inventory, materials handling, or warehouse experience (manufacturing preferred).
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Epicor, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
  • Ability to lift 40–50 pounds and work on feet for extended periods.
