Job description

Inventory Receiving Technician Summary
The Sample Receiving Technician (Part-Time) is responsible for supporting the laboratory by receiving incoming shipments, opening and triaging sample packages, and registering samples in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
This role ensures samples are properly logged, labeled, and distributed to laboratory personnel in accordance with established procedures and turnaround time requirements. Hours for the Inventory Receiving Technician are Monday - Friday 9:00am-2:00pm.Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
  • Receive and inspect incoming sample shipments from couriers and clients.
  • Open shipping containers and verify sample integrity and documentation.
  • Triage incoming samples based on testing type and turnaround time (TAT).
  • Register samples accurately in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Label samples according to laboratory procedures.
  • Organize and distribute samples to the appropriate laboratory departments.
  • Maintain accurate records of received samples and associated documentation.
  • Maintain an organized and clean sample receiving area.
  • Communicate any discrepancies or issues with samples to laboratory staff or supervisors.
  • Follow all laboratory safety procedures and handling requirements.
  • Assist with general sample receiving tasks as needed.
