Position Introduction:
The Food Services Inventory, Recipe and Data Management Student Assistant supports the Food Services department by maintaining accurate data within the department's inventory and recipe management software. This position is responsible for entering, updating, and verifying inventory, recipe, vendor, and product information to ensure data accuracy and support efficient food production, purchasing, and cost management. The student employee works closely with Food Services staff to maintain organized records and assist with routine administrative tasks related to inventory control and menu management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Enter and update inventory items, product specifications, and vendor information in food service management software.
  • Input and maintain recipe data, including ingredients, quantities, yield information, and nutritional details as directed.
  • Verify data accuracy through routine audits and reconciliation of records.
  • Assist with inventory counts and update software records to reflect inventory changes.
  • Review reports and identify discrepancies for follow-up with supervisors.
  • Support menu planning and recipe standardization efforts by maintaining current recipe files.
  • Organize and maintain electronic and paper documentation related to food service operations.
  • Follow departmental procedures for data security, confidentiality, and record retention.
  • Assist with other administrative and clerical duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
Must be currently enrolled in the Fall Term as a student at the University of Oklahoma.
