The Research Aide & Interviewer conducts research activities for an evaluation on a federally funded longitudinal research study, focused on language development of children aged birth to 9 years. Under the direction and supervision of the Project Director and Lead Research Associate, the Research Aide & Interviewer will assist with all project aspects related to material preparation, data collection (in-person and over phone, email, and/or zoom), data entry and coding, and data processing and cleaning. The incumbent assists the Project Director and Principal Investigator in the long-term and day-to-day progress towards project deliverables by facilitating the collection of data including child direct assessments, and is responsible for verifying the completeness and accuracy of assessment paperwork. This position is required to travel to and conduct data collection activities within homes in the assigned project area on a regular basis. As we work to schedule data collection activities flexibly to meet the needs of our participating families, the incumbent may be asked to complete work outside of primary working hours (M-F, 9am-5pm), including early morning and/or early evening appointments, as well as occasional weekend appointments. Other duties as assigned.
Required Experiences:
Minimum Education Required: High School Diploma or GED. 0 years of relevant experience required.
Experience working with children of diverse backgrounds; knowledge of educational assessments; ability to work as part of a team; knowledge of desktop computing; reliable transportation and willingness to travel for field work; must be able to fulfill the state requirements to work with preschool children (successful completion of an FBI/BCI background check).
Desired Experiences:
Education Desired: Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in Social Sciences. 1 year of relevant experience.
Experience conducting home visits; experience conducting child language assessments with children aged 2 to 9 years. In the first 60 to 90 days of employment, the successful candidate for this position will accomplish the following: Conduct high quality work through proactive decision-making, commitment to quality, creativity, and thoughtful analysis. Develop a comprehensive understanding of college and department policies and procedures. Establish pivotal relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team. Cultivates a culture of team engagement and collaboration in the CCEC/SFC.

Data Collection related duties, including (as needed each week): conducting data collection appointments, dropping off/picking up study materials from participating families, cleaning/prepping study materials between appointments, and uploading/managing data collected from participants. (may vary by week depending on availability of participants to schedule - when <80%, workload will shift toward Project Management related duties, below).

Project Management related duties, including (as needed each week): updating participant tracking materials, data processing and cleaning tasks, and flexing to meet other project management needs related to the project as described in the job description. Other duties as assigned.
The Target Hiring Range for this position is $15.15/hr - $19.79/hr
