Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Cath Specialist with scrubbing experience in a Cath Lab or Interventional Lab and ARRT or RCIS certification.

Details
  • Work within a cardiac catheterization lab setting
  • Assist physicians in acquiring digital radiographic images of the heart, peripheral vessels, and related structures
  • 12-hour shifts scheduled 7a-730p on rotating days of the week
  • 36 hours per week with a 0.9 FTE
  • On-call required 1-2 weeknights and every 3rd weekend
  • Holiday coverage required as needed
Requirements
  • ARRT certification in Radiation Therapy or Radiology, or RCIS certification through CCI required
  • License required if applicable
  • Must have scrubbing experience within a Cath Lab or Interventional Lab
  • Experience in a cardiovascular specialist position required
  • Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Science program, special procedures program, professional nursing program, or completion of a cardiac catheterization training course required
  • Transcripts required for education verification
  • This is not an RT/RRT position
Additional Information
  • Control radiographic equipment to acquire quality cardiac and peripheral images
  • Set x-ray acquisition parameters and pan the radiographic table to optimize physician visualization
  • Practice radiation safety using distance and protective attire
  • Apply knowledge of hemodynamics, diagnostic, interventional, and peripheral procedures including related devices and protocols
  • Perform daily room preparations, quality control checks, and inventory/supply management
  • Document patient data for records, charge entry, image archiving, and CQI reporting using systems such as Witt, HeartLab, ICE, and IVUS
  • Prepare scrub table and patient for procedures while maintaining sterile technique
  • Prepare lines and devices for injectable fluids and assist with IV insertion under physician supervision
  • Operate, inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain cardiac catheterization lab equipment
  • May include lead worker responsibilities such as training and assigning work to other staff
  • Monitor, record, and evaluate patient information throughout procedures to ensure optimal outcomes
