Job description

Location: Romulus, MI

Ferrous Processing and Trading, a business of Cleveland-Cliffs Steel, has an immediate opportunity for a CDL A Driver at our Romulus, MI location. The driver position is responsible for transporting steel and scrap according to DOT regulations with a Commercial Driver License (CDL).

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Completes daily field service activities, including preparing receipts, truck logs, and maintenance records.

  • Operates vehicle in accordance with Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements as well as all local, state, and federal requirements and Company expectations for the Fleet; maintains a clean and safe vehicle

  • Performs all duties as scheduled by Route Manager or Dispatch

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED.

  • Must have a valid Commercial Driver's license

  • Pre-Employment background, physical, and hair drug screen required

  • Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) search

  • Work in outdoor weather conditions and temperatures

  • Class A CDL

  • Interstate Endorsement

  • Previous experience in a heavy haul or doubles is a plus; however, we will train the right individual
