Job description

Step into a dynamic role as a Sign Language Interpreter supporting students in a welcoming school environment near Orland Park, IL. As an SLI, you’ll bridge communication between Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing students and educators, ensuring equal access to education and participation in all school activities. This is a contract opportunity, offering flexibility and variety throughout your assignment.

Key Qualifications:

  • National or state certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (such as EIPA, RID, or equivalent)
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and skilled in transliterating and interpreting in educational settings
  • Previous experience working as an interpreter in a school or youth-centered environment preferred
  • Ability to interact with students, educators, and families with patience and professionalism
  • Understanding of confidentiality, special education processes, and student support best practices
  • Reliable transportation to and from Bradley, IL, or surrounding areas

Primary Responsibilities:
