Step into a rewarding, contract-based opportunity as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) supporting students in an educational setting near Chicago, IL. This full-time position is perfect for dedicated professionals ready to make a direct impact working 1:1 with a student, fostering communication, equal access, and classroom participation for a meaningful school experience.

Your schedule will run Monday through Friday, from 8:25am to 3:25pm, allowing for consistent hours and work-life balance. The role begins as soon as possible—ideal for someone eager to start making a difference right away.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI)
  • Prior experience working in educational environments, particularly with K-12 students, highly preferred
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Ability to provide clear, accurate interpretation in real-time classroom and academic situations
  • Commitment to promoting inclusion and access for student success

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct, 1:1 sign language interpretation for a student throughout their school day
  • Interpret instructional content, interactions, and activities between teachers, staff, and the student
  • Foster effective communication to support academic and social-emotional growth
  • Collaborate with educators and team members for optimal support
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
