Job SummaryThis nine-month, tenure-track (orteaching-track) faculty position requires teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the Public Health programs in the school, developing a programmatic line of research (if tenure-track), serving asinternship coordinator, and providing service to the school, college,university and professional organizations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Teaching (online and face-to-face) in the undergraduate and graduate Public Health programs.
  2. Facilitating fieldwork placement for undergraduate internship students and graduate practicum students in Public Health programs.
  3. Coordinating outreach activities and events for students, alumni, and employers.
  4. Collecting and disseminating internship and outreach data for the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) Accreditation in collaboration with School and program leadership and staff.
  5. Serving as an advisor for public health student organizations, such as Eta Sigma Gamma.
  6. For tenure-track appointments:
    a. Commitment to build and sustain a robust research agenda to include creation and dissemination of new knowledge and pursuit of external research support.
  7. Other duties as assigned.

Minimum QualificationsMasters degree in Public Health
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially with students, staff and faculty from all backgrounds, programs, and colleges.
If pursuing a tenure-track position, the following minimum qualifications also apply:
Doctoral degree at the time of appointment in Public Health or an advanced degree in Public Health with a doctorate in a related discipline.
ABD considered but must be completed by the start of assignment.
Demonstrated line of scholarly inquiry evidenced by submission of peer-reviewed publications, professional presentations, and/or grant submissions.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Specialized knowledge in the field of public health as demonstrated by graduate level coursework or professional experience is required.
  • Candidates should possess qualities of effective leadership.
  • Candidates should have the ability to deliver accurate, concise and quality communication (verbal and written) in a timely manner.
  • Candidates should have the ability to work collaboratively on interdisciplinary teams.

Preferred QualificationsThree to five years of experience teaching public health-related courses.
Experience teaching in multiple delivery modes (asynchronous online, synchronous online, and face-to-face).
Experience with CEPH accreditation.
Experience placing and/or supervising student practicums/internships.
