Political Ad Sales Assistant (Nonpartisan Political Broadcasting Company)

Location: Washington, DC (hybrid) Tuesday-Thursday in office

Hours: 40 hours a week

Salary: $24 hour

Type of position: Full-time temporary June 16th-November 6, 2026



The Choiceโ€™s client, a prominent broadcasting company, is seeking a Political Ad Sales Assistant during the critical political window leading up to the 2026 election cycle. This is a non-partisan position supporting ad buying order entry and revision processes for all political advertising. The person will play a vital role ensuring advertising orders are accurately entered into Wide Orbit Traffic System and collaborate closely with Sales Executives on order entry and revisions. Great opportunity for those interested in political elections cycles or broadcasting.

This is a contract position slated to start around June 16th and run on a contract basis until November 6, 2026.


Qualifications

  • Degree in Marketing, Business (with interest in Broadcast), Government, Journalism, Public Policy, or related fields.
  • Prior experience or internship in Broadcast/Media organizations, political advertising functions, political campaigns, PACs, or advocacy groups.
  • Familiarity with broadcast advertising workflows (traffic, scheduling, billing).
  • Strong skills in data tracking and classification (spreadsheets, databases, reporting tools).
  • Wide Orbit Media Traffic Knowledge โ€“ is a bonus!
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated integrity in handling sensitive data.
  • Keen attention to detail and the ability to handle and manage multiple projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Works closely with order entry, traffic and layout to ensure clients advertising schedules are met.
  • Assists Sales Executives on all special project details including but not limited to production schedule, rate authorization and communication.
  • Identify and correct any billing errors or issues prior to end of month.
  • Correctly input client billing adjustments within the same month as dispute identified.
  • Research problems that develop with accounts and troubleshoot the issue, developing a satisfactory conclusion for the advertiser needs.
  • Adheres to company policy and assigned standards of performance.
  • Perform database entry, general tracking on excel, data management and maintenance tasks;
  • Comfort interpreting and applying FCC rules for political advertising;
  • Help with proofreading and accuracy of internal documents;
  • Other tasks as necessary
