Work Arrangement

This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, MI three times per week, at minimum.

WhatYou'llDo

  • In this unique, highly autonomous role, you will independently shape andmaintainthe critical minerals distribution, trading and market, financialbenchmarkingand sourcing strategies specific to a wide array of critical minerals and REE's (rare earth elements).

  • Operate with sound business judgment and adhere to corporate and departmental purchasing, finance, and accounting practices and procedures

  • Lead end-to-end sourcing and contracting activities that include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and lead sourcing strategies, including bid list development and management

  • Lead quote analysis, commercial evaluation, and market review to inform sourcing decisions

  • Coordinate and align sourcing opportunities, including Terms & Conditions, technical documentation, quality requirements, and commercial inputs

  • Develop sourcing recommendations for leadership and drive alignment with cross-functional teams

  • Negotiate and execute complex supply agreements

  • Manage sourcing documentation related to the RFQ process in adherence to GM Audit Services requirements

  • Lead direct material budget activities and support financial planning for critical minerals

  • Lead supplier relationship management initiatives, including Strategic Supplier Engagement, and nurture supplier relationships by serving as a focal point for commercial issue resolution

  • Lead change management activities and work closely with external partners on potential collaborations and strategic engagements related to critical minerals

  • Lead or represent the purchasing function in supplier KPI reviews and performance discussions

  • Represent purchasing and support the mitigation of supply chain disruptions across the critical minerals value chain

Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Supply Chain, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management,logistics, product development, commodities, market analysis, finance, or related fields (internship or co-op experience will not be considered)

Competency Level:

Demonstrated ability to work independently and complete complex, ambiguous tasks with limited direction while exercising sound judgment in the following competencies:

  • Data Judgment - Objectively analyze complex data, market signals, and financial information to draw meaningful conclusions

  • Informative Communication - Communicate relevant information effectively andin a timely mannerto theappropriate audience

  • Relationship Management - Develop andmaintainconstructive, cooperative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders

At a minimum,demonstratethe ability to execute with little support in the following competencies:

  • Negotiation - Engage in collaborative discussions to reach meaningful agreements

  • Analytical Thinking - Consider multiple factors in decision making todeterminesolutions and their potential impacts

  • Results Focus - Take ownership without prompting, seize opportunities, and deliver results on time

  • Workload Management - Manage multiple priorities with quality and prioritize work based on critical needs

Ability to travel approximately 10%-15% domestically and internationally

What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Economics, or a related advanced degree

  • Experience in critical minerals, mining, mineral processing, commodities, or related natural resources industries

  • Experience mapping end-to-end supply chains and analyzing value chains

  • Experience developing or applying distribution, trading and market, commodity, or financial benchmarking strategies

  • Cost analysis, financial modeling, commercial strategy, or manufacturing experience

  • Experience in the automotive, electric vehicle, or EV battery industry

  • Experience working at a mining or processing firm, EV battery company, financial institution, investment bank, or commercial bank

  • Capable of drawing conclusions from complex data, market trends, financial indicators, and the regulatory environment

  • Ability to understand basic technical drivers for the applicable commodities, along with knowledge of contract law as it applies topurchasingprocesses and commercial agreements
