Job Description

Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital (MVRH) is seeking veterinarians passionate about working in emergency medicine for our 9-month training and mentorship program. We are looking for individuals who are team oriented, driven, reflective, and reliable to train with us and transition into an ER position.

Mass Vet is an elite tertiary facility in the Boston area practicing exceptional medicine. Our hospital is rooted in training, teaching and collaboration. You will have ample opportunity to grow your knowledge base and skills by working cohesively with our 35-doctor ECC department and many specialty departments, to include Internal Medicine, Surgery, Neurology, Radiology, Ophthalmology, Cardiology, Oncology, Anesthesiology and Critical Care. Many services are available 7 days a week. We believe in work-life balance, taking care of each other and helping everyone succeed.

The Ethos ER Immerse Training Program

The ER Immerse Program will prepare veterinarians for a sustainable and satisfying career in emergency medicine. Built from the ground up to be different than traditional rotating internship programs, the ERi program has been developed around a curriculum of core competencies essential for an emergency veterinarian. In addition to providing training around clinical knowledge and skills, the program also includes a focus on client and team member communication, professional skills, and life/work integration.

The ER Immerse program utilizes a hybrid training approach incorporating simulation-based didactic components into authentic training experiences with live patients. The curriculum is designed using an evidence-based strategy identifying competencies and skills deemed essential for a successful career as an emergency clinician.

Work authorization in the United States is a requirement for the position. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the company, but candidates eligible for TN status may be considered.

Program Duration/Commitment
  • 9-month training program beginning June 14, 2027
  • 2-year commitment as an ER clinician at an Ethos hospital following training
Location
  • Massachusetts Veterinary Referral Hospital - 20 Cabot Rd, Woburn, MA, 01801
Program Highlights
  • 5-day work week consisting of 4 clinical days, 1 didactic day, and 2 days off each week, usually consecutive
  • Rotate with other specialty services during the training program
  • Always work with a dedicated mentor on shifts
  • No on-call
  • Competency-based curriculum that includes asynchronous learning on Vetbloom and weekly live virtual didactic rounds
  • Regular live continuing education events led by specialists and experienced emergency doctors
