Senior Systems Engineer

Who is the Client?

Our client is one of the top computer game companies in the Midwest. They’ve been around for nearly 30 years creating amazing games and software.

They are known for some of the most prominent Real Time Strategy Games on the market. We are looking for a C++ Systems Engineer to join this incredibly talented team to work on an unannounced project. The ideal candidate is not only passionate about strategy and simulation video games but is also driven to contribute to the creation of immersive gaming experiences.

What are the responsibilities of the position?

  • Create cutting-edge game software technology.

  • Develop multi-threaded simulations.

  • Own the architecture and development of multiple core systems (AI, Audio, Physics, Multiplayer, Data Systems, UI/UX, Gameplay, 3D Graphics, etc.).

  • Ensure that complex, dynamic systems work well together.

  • Write clean, robust, readable, well-documented, and efficient code.

  • Staying abreast of latest software development technology and features to help guide and improve our internal technologies and processes.

  • Being obsessed with performance; regularly performing code analysis and performance profiling.

  • Collaborate with other engineers, artists, designers, and producers to deliver the best product possible.

What are the minimum qualifications?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics required.

  • 5 years minimum C++ development required.

  • Experience with multi-threaded programming required.

  • Previous experience in at least one of the following: AI, Audio, Physics, Multiplayer, Data Systems, UI/UX, Gameplay, and/or 3D Graphics.

  • Understanding of software development life cycle is strongly desired.

  • Aptitude in problem solving, algorithms, and mathematics is strongly desired
