Workplace & People Operations Manager Overview
The Workplace & People Operations Manager at Cowboy Space Corporation will own workplace operations, employee experience, onboarding coordination, internship program operations, and broader People team operational support across the company.
This role serves as a key operational and cultural presence onsite, helping create an exceptional experience for employees, candidates, interns, and visitors while ensuring the office and workplace environment operates smoothly and professionally during a period of rapid organizational growth.
Reporting to the Head of People, this individual will partner closely with Talent Acquisition, leadership, hiring managers, and cross-functional teams to support employee experience, workplace operations, People programs, and organizational coordination across the company.
This role is ideal for a highly organized, operationally strong, and proactive individual who thrives in fast-moving startup environments and enjoys building structure, operational rigor, and high-quality employee experiences. This role is located onsite in San Carlos CA.
Key Responsibilities
Workplace Operations & Employee Experience
  • Serve as a primary onsite point of contact for employees, candidates, visitors, vendors, and guests
  • Help create a welcoming, organized, and high-quality workplace environment
  • Coordinate workplace logistics including:
    • Conference room coordination
    • Visitor coordination
    • Workplace organization and operational support
  • Support onsite employee experience initiatives, team events, and company gatherings
  • Help maintain a productive, professional, and mission-driven workplace environment
Onboarding & People Operations Support
  • Coordinate onboarding logistics and new hire onboarding experiences
  • Support employee lifecycle coordination and operational People processes where needed
  • Assist with People Operations workflows, systems, documentation, and process organization
  • Help improve onboarding processes, employee experience workflows, and operational People infrastructure over time
  • Support cross-functional coordination related to employee operations and workplace needs
Internship & Early Career Programs
  • Operationally manage Cowboy Space's internship and early career program coordination
  • Support internship onboarding, scheduling, programming, events, and engagement activities
  • Coordinate intern logistics and cross-functional communication with hiring teams and leadership
  • Help create a strong intern experience and support internship program scalability over time
  • Assist with university outreach coordination and early career operational support where needed
Candidate & Visitor Experience
  • Support onsite candidate hospitality and interview visit coordination
  • Help ensure a high-quality and professional onsite experience for candidates and visitors
  • Coordinate candidate visit logistics in partnership with Talent Acquisition and hiring teams
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of workplace operations, People Operations, office management, employee experience, operations coordination, or related experience
  • Strong operational, organizational, and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operational workflows simultaneously
  • High attention to detail and strong execution skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional presence
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-growth startup environments
  • Ability to operate proactively and independently in ambiguous environments
  • Experience supporting onboarding, employee experience, workplace operations, or People programs strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting internship, university, or early career programs is a plus
  • Startup, aerospace, manufacturing, hardware, or deep-tech experience is strongly preferred
Compensation and Benefits
Competitive compensation package including salary, equity, and benefits based on experience and level. Posted base salary: $140,000 to $186,535.
