Who We Are

At 2K, we create some of the most iconic and culture-shaping video games in entertainment, including NBA® 2K, one of the top-selling franchises in the world, and legendary titles like BioShock®, Borderlands®, Mafia, Sid Meier’s Civilization®, XCOM®, as well as fan favorites WWE® 2K, TopSpin®, and PGA TOUR® 2K. We build unforgettable experiences by pushing the boundaries of creativity, authenticity and innovation across every genre.

Our portfolio is brought to life by some of the most influential game development studios in the world. Visual Concepts, Firaxis Games, Hangar 13, Cat Daddy Games, 31st Union, Cloud Chamber, Gearbox, HB Studios, and 2K SportsLab create world‑class experiences across platforms.

But what truly powers 2K is our people.

We believe the best ideas come from teams that feel empowered, supported, and inspired. As an equal opportunity employer, we are committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive workplace where people are encouraged to come as they are and do their best work.

What We Need

As an experienced Technical Test Analyst within the Shared Development Services automation team, you will act as a key technical contributor embedded within a game studio based in Montreal. With the support of 2K’s central test automation team, you will be responsible for the technical evolution and support of test scripting and automation systems for a major AAA game.

This position is for a technical professional with over 4 years of experience in quality assurance who excels in the implementation of test automation. You will focus on updating and extending existing automations to address the most complex test cases. You will combine your deep understanding of QA best practices with strong scripting skills to ensure our automation suites provide reliable insights into game state and performance.

An excellent candidate values technical craftsmanship and has a passion for using specialized methodologies (embedded automation, telemetry analysis, and performance monitoring) to improve developer workflows. This is a high‑impact role where you will leverage the resources of a global leader in a premier studio environment, and where your technical work will help shape the experience of millions of players around the world.

What You’ll Do
  • Complex Test Implementation: Design and script sophisticated automated tests for highly complex game systems. You will be the primary driving force behind expanding automation coverage where manual testing is insufficient or inefficient.
  • Automation Scripting and Support: Extend and evolve existing automated test scripts so they remain effective as game features evolve. You will identify gaps in test reliability and provide updates to improve the consistency and quality of automated results.
  • Technical Defect Analysis: Investigate complex or intermittent issues by analyzing automation logs and diagnostic data. You will collaborate with engineers to provide technical context and automated reproduction steps, ensuring high‑priority defects are clearly documented and verified.
  • Pipeline Maintenance: Monitor the health and reliability of the automation pipeline. Ensure that existing automated suites run efficiently within CI/CD systems and that results are stable, actionable, and free from flakiness.
  • Technical Consultation: Act as a subject matter expert for the studio on how to best utilize our automation tools. You will translate manual test requirements into technical specifications that can be executed within the existing automation framework.
What Will Make You A Great Fit Required Skills
  • More than 4 years of professional experience in software testing or quality engineering.
  • More than 2 years of hands‑on experience focused on automation programming and test scripting.
  • Strong proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language such as Java, Python, C#, Bash, Lua, PowerShell, etc.
  • Ability to extend and maintain test coverage using automation tools or frameworks such as Selenium, Appium, or JUnit.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, with a close attention to detail.
Nice to Have
  • Experience testing AAA games across multiple phases of the game development lifecycle.
  • Deep and varied gaming experience in first‑person shooter (FPS) or action role‑playing game (Action RPG) titles.
  • Good knowledge of commercial game engines, such as Unity or Unreal Engine.
  • Ability to integrate with CI/CD systems such as TeamCity, Jenkins, or Horde.
  • Experience with test case management software such as QMetry or TestRail.
  • ISTQB certification or equivalent.

As an equal opportunity employer, we are committed to ensuring that qualified individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform their essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment. Please contact us if you need reasonable accommodation.
