DOD SkillBridge Machinist Internship

DOD SkillBridge Technician Program

Agiliti has created a 4-6 month SkillBridge program for transitioning service members to meet our specific workforce needs. We have successfully matched those needs to the skills and abilities of highly motivated service members. The Machinist works under the guidance of a qualified experience Machinist or supervisor.

Training Plan

  • Participate in an individualized training plan that meets the soldiers needs and the work at the Agiliti location
  • Training is conducted via a mixture of CBT (computer-based training) and OJT (on the job)

  • Interns will be assigned a mentor at their location

The Machinist provides high level quality, technical and machining experience, while working in a small team environment.

What You Will Learn to Do in This Role

  • Set up and operate machines such as conventional, special purpose and Computer Numerical Control (CNC).
  • Identify and set up required tooling jobs.
  • Calculate precise measurements and set controls for accuracy.
  • Develop specifications and produce parts.
  • Read, maintain and calibrate precision measuring tools.
  • Manage inventory and budget cost.
  • Discuss repair order problems with Field Representatives and Customers.

What You Will Need for This Role

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • The ability to sit, stand, lift, bend and stoop often.
  • The ability to understand and follow blueprints and manufacture parts to specifications.
  • The ability to handle and assemble small parts.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Profitability awareness and performance.
