NBC Sports Bay Area/California is a regional sports content creator with both linear television and digital platform distribution. NBCSBA/CA is the home for Golden State Warriors, San Francisco Giants, San Francisco 49ers, A's, San Jose Sharks, Sacramento Kings games, pregame & postgame coverage and a full complement of digital/social coverage.

Our linear network and digital platforms serve the Bay Area and Northern California sports fans like no one else. Job Description

The Content group at NBC Sports Bay Area/California is responsible for the day-to-day planning and production of on-air and digital schedules. Interns will assist in the production of daily content and programs, while also helping various production and marketing related initiatives including research, audio/video production, news gathering, editing content.

A snapshot of your responsibilities:

  • Take steps in next-level editing, learning from skilled NBC Sports Bay Area staff editors/manager
  • Contribute/support editing needs as part of the daily workload
  • Work with Manager, Video Producer/Editors on support for upcoming projects
  • Learn both digital and linear editing platforms
  • Understand NBC Sports Media databases and ways to work through for projects
  • Executing detail work to procure footage from external sources
  • May be assigned other tasks needed to support the network's day-to-day operations
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 through April 2027). December 2026 graduates are not eligible for this Academic Year Internship Program.
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 - April 23, 2027.
  • Must be willing to work in San Francisco, California.

Desired Characteristics

  • Students with a class standing of junior or above preferred.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Windows Office, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Strong interest in web, mobile, social media, sports, and television
  • Intermediate media production experience (college programs)
  • Knowledge of Bay Area sports (baseball, basketball, football, hockey)
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and creative skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven track record of following through on projects

  • Required On-Site: This position is required to be performed full-time from our San Francisco office.
