FASHION DESIGN INTERN
*This is an academic internship in exchange for school credit. A fix stipend will be paid to interns on a monthly basis.
7AM is seeking a highly motivated, resourceful and pro-active individual with great style and sophisticated design sensibilities. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure in all facets of a growing brand, to learn and work in a fun, dynamic and creative environment.
The highly organized candidate will train and collaborate with the head designer and junior designer to create mood boards, cads, new tech packs for sampling of new line, follow up with factories about sampling process, prepare final tech pack for production and follow through to the completion of an approved final product.
In addition, the candidate will shop print studios and fabric mills to scout for the newest fabrics and prints for the season. The candidate will take part in the development and selection of artwork, in addition to the preparations of the flat sketch design for new products and create design sketches for enhancements to existing products.

  • Passion to design compelling and cutting-edge products
  • Preparing technical packages for final art, starting & completing final CAD presentations for sales
  • Ability to work independently, to follow directions and to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Requirements:
  • Must be working towards a degree in fashion design
  • Experience in children's wear is a plus
  • Proficient with CAD fashion software, Adobe Creative Suite, Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Office including PowerPoint and Excel on a Mac platform
  • Must be efficient with tech packs, fittings, comments and corrections
