Job description

Overview:
About the Role: We're seeking an experienced Power BI Developer/Architect to join our Los Angeles team for a 6-month engagement. You'll be responsible for designing and developing comprehensive business intelligence solutions, creating data models, and building interactive dashboards and reports that drive business decision-making.
What You'll Do:
  • Design and develop Power BI reports, dashboards, and data visualizations
  • Create and optimize data models using Power BI Desktop and Power Query
  • Architect scalable Power BI solutions for enterprise-level reporting needs
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Implement data governance best practices and security protocols
  • Integrate Power BI with various data sources (SQL Server, Azure, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Optimize report performance and troubleshoot data connectivity issues
  • Provide training and support to end users on Power BI functionality
  • Document technical specifications and maintain solution architecture

What We're Looking For:
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI development
  • Strong expertise in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power Query
  • Proven experience as a Power BI Architect with complex solution design
  • Proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and M language
  • Knowledge of data modeling concepts and dimensional modeling
  • Experience with SQL Server, Azure services, and data warehousing
  • Understanding of ETL processes and data integration techniques
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Experience with agile development methodologies

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Microsoft Power BI certifications
  • Experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics
  • Knowledge of Python or R for advanced analytics
  • Familiarity with other BI tools (Tableau, QlikView)
  • Understanding of data governance and security frameworks
