Job Description Summary
The Military DoD SkillBridge program is an opportunity for Service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through specific industry training, apprenticeships, or internships during the last 180 days of service. SkillBridge connects Service members with industry partners in real-world job experiences under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. Separating Service members can be granted up to 180 days of permissive duty to focus solely on training full-time with approved industry partners after unit commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) provides written authorization and approval. GE Aerospace as a Skill Bridge partner offers real-world training and work experience in in-demand fields of work while having the opportunity to evaluate the Service member's suitability for the work. Military DoD SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from GE Aerospace, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.
Job Description
The Senior Quality Control Systems Analyst is responsible for supporting manufacturing quality execution through effective quality control systems, process discipline, and actionable data insights. This role partners closely with Manufacturing Quality, Operations, Engineering, Production, and Digital Technology teams to improve inspection execution, process control, defect visibility, and response to quality issues across the shop. The position requires strong analytical capability, manufacturing process understanding, and operating rigor to improve product quality and support Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost outcomes.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Support and improve quality control systems and processes used in manufacturing inspection, defect tracking, nonconformance management, and process compliance
  • Partner with Manufacturing Quality and Operations teams to ensure quality system outputs align with shop floor execution needs and production requirements
  • Analyze manufacturing quality data to identify defect trends, recurring issues, process variation, escape risks, and opportunities to improve first-pass yield
  • Develop and maintain reporting, dashboards, and visual management tools for key manufacturing quality metrics such as defects, scrap, rework, escapes, nonconformances, and inspection performance
  • Drive visibility to quality issues impacting production flow and support prioritization of containment, corrective action, and recovery efforts
  • Support root cause problem solving by providing data analysis, trend insights, and systems-based visibility into failure patterns and process breakdowns
  • Improve data integrity, reporting consistency, and system discipline across manufacturing quality workflows and quality control processes
  • Partner with inspectors, quality engineers, operations leaders, and manufacturing teams to improve usability and adoption of quality systems and reporting tools
  • Support process audits, layered reviews, and compliance checks tied to manufacturing quality execution and standard work adherence
  • Ensure accurate system support for inspection planning, defect documentation, nonconformance tracking, and escalation workflows
  • Participate in implementation, testing, validation, and continuous improvement of quality tools and digital processes used in manufacturing environments
  • Identify and drive improvement opportunities that strengthen process control, reduce defects, improve flow, and enhance responsiveness to quality issues
  • Provide leadership and guidance in cross-functional discussions related to manufacturing quality systems, reporting, and process improvement

Required Qualifications
  • Active Military personnel on their last 180 days of Military service
  • Significant experience in manufacturing quality, quality systems, quality control, operations analytics, or related roles
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment supporting inspection, defect reduction, or nonconformance management
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills
  • Experience with quality data, reporting tools, and business systems
  • Ability to work effectively across Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations teams

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting manufacturing quality processes including inspection, process control, nonconformance tracking, and corrective actions
  • Familiarity with root cause analysis, first-pass yield improvement, defect reduction, and shop floor quality metrics
  • Experience with lean principles, daily management, standard work, and continuous improvement
  • Experience supporting digital tool enhancements or system/process improvements in manufacturing quality
  • Knowledge of quality metrics such as scrap, rework, escapes, defect trends, and process adherence
