Location: Raleigh, North Carolina area office
Undergraduate: Rising Junior or Senior
Duration: 10 weeks
Start Dates: May 14, May 24 or June 7
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours/week

What will I do as a Smart Buildings Fire & Life Safety Sales Intern?
  • Work alongside Sales Managers and Sales Executives within the local branch office.
  • Assist the sales team with lead generation, prospecting, and account outreach.
  • Support the preparation of sales presentations, proposals, and reports.
  • Help manage CRM data by tracking leads and maintaining data accuracy.
  • Shadow sales calls and meetings to learn effective sales techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, other business units, departments, etc.) to support customer engagement
  • Analyze sales performance data and provide insights into driving growth.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute creative ideas for improving sales processes.
  • Participate in sales related activities (learning how to prospect, go-to-market, build B2B relationships, on-the-job training and shadowing, etc.)

• Rotate through our core business segments, which include Building Automation, Fire/Life Safety, Security and Energy/Sustainability Systems.
What will my responsibilities be as a Smart Buildings Fire & Life Safety Sales Intern?
  • Position Siemens as an industry leader among service providers, leveraging Siemens world-class digital service delivery as a key differentiator.
  • Collaborate with operations and internal teams to deliver excellent customer outcomes.
  • Help prospect for new customers and engage with existing customers on new offerings.
  • Visit customer sites with both Solutions and Services Sales Teams.
  • Develop value-based proposals, estimates, specifications, and presentations.
  • Work with operations, finance, legal and other inside and outside resources to obtain the sale.
  • Attend job take-offs and turnover meetings.
  • Actively participate in sales department meetings, workshops, and seminars to stay knowledgeable on current market, business, and product trends.

The goal of this internship program is to develop future talent for the Siemens organization and help you identify where you may be interested in pursuing a career at Siemens post-graduation.
To apply for the Smart Buildings Fire & Life Safety Sales Internship, candidates must meet the following requirements:
  • Education: Must be current enrollment as an undergraduate at an accredited 4-year U.S. college or university.
  • Majors: Pursing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Energy/Sustainability, Built Environment, Construction Management or Business Administration, Sales/Marketing with a strong technical engineering aptitude.
  • Preferred: Participation in a school sponsored sales engineering club/organization, pursuing a professional sales certificate or similar.
  • Earliest Graduation Date: Rising Junior or Senior
  • Availability: Ability to work 40-hours per week for the 10-week program (May - July or June - August).
  • Relocation: No relocation assistance or housing stipend is provided. Must be willing and able to work at the branch office location and surrounding local area.
  • Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company or school sponsorship. This program does not support students on a Visa such as F1, J1, M1 and H1B as well as OPT/CPT.

Benefits:
The hourly pay range for this position is $24 - $28 per hour, based off of your projected graduation year. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
