Internship Shopify positions are designed for beginners gaining hands-on experience, often with mentorship and limited responsibilities. Shopify Developers are experienced professionals responsible for building and customizing Shopify stores, requiring advanced technical skills. The internship serves as a stepping stone into the industry, while the developer role involves ongoing project work and technical expertise.

What types of projects and responsibilities can interns expect during a Shopify internship?

During a Shopify internship, interns typically work on real-world projects alongside full-time teams, contributing to areas such as software development, UX/UI design, data analysis, or product management. Interns are given ownership of specific tasks or features and are encouraged to propose solutions and share ideas. Collaboration is a key part of the culture, so interns regularly participate in team meetings, code reviews, and cross-functional projects. This hands-on experience helps interns build both technical and soft skills, and many find that strong performance can lead to full-time opportunities after graduation.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Shopify Intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Shopify Intern, you generally need foundational knowledge in web development, e-commerce concepts, and strong problem-solving abilities, often supported by coursework in computer science or business. Familiarity with Shopify's platform, Liquid templating language, and tools like Git is typically expected, along with proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Initiative, adaptability, and effective communication help interns excel in collaborative and fast-changing environments. These skills and qualities are crucial for contributing to real projects, learning quickly, and adding value to Shopify's dynamic teams.

What are Shopify internships?

Shopify internships are temporary positions offered by Shopify, a leading e-commerce platform, to students or recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in various fields such as engineering, design, marketing, and business operations. These internships provide opportunities to work on real projects, learn from experienced professionals, and develop valuable skills in a fast-paced tech environment. Interns at Shopify often benefit from mentorship, networking, and the chance to contribute to impactful work that supports merchants around the world.

Full-time, Internship

Posted 13 days ago

Job description

Apprenticely is working with our company partner, the HaveMore.Space to add a Go-to-Market Intern to their team in Bentonville, Arkansas!
Our Apprenticely Internship Program is a three-month program that places selected candidates with employers across Arkansas in IT positions to gain experience under the guidance of a professional mentor/IT support team. Internships are designed as an on-ramp to an IT career and can roll into full-time positions based on employer demand.
About HMS:
HMS sells consent education and a fast-growing consumer brand across multiple channels. This intern clears every operational block between where we are today and being sellable everywhere - owning the buildout of our full storefront stack and getting product live, tracked, and selling.
What You'll Own:
  • Storefront buildout: Stand up and optimize HMS across Shopify, Amazon, and TikTok Shop - TikTok Shop is the priority launch lane.
  • Catalog & listings: Clean product data, listings, images, and pricing across all channels.
  • Tracking & attribution: Wire up Incarts shortlinks and connect Meta Business Manager assets.
  • Reporting: Build a simple dashboard showing what's selling by channel so the team can act on it.

12-Week Outcome (Definition of Done):
All three storefronts live and selling, with TikTok Shop launched, catalog clean, tracking in place, and first orders flowing across channels.
12-Week Arc:
  • Weeks 1-2: Platform access, catalog audit, and setup plan.
  • Weeks 3-4: TikTok Shop launched and live.
  • Weeks 5-12: Optimize all channels, build reporting, and document the setup so it's repeatable.

You're a Fit if You:
  • Are organized, self-directed, and comfortable learning new platforms fast.
  • Have interest or coursework in e-commerce, digital marketing, marketing analytics, or business technology.
  • Want ownership of a real launch, not busywork.

Additional Details:
  • Pay Range: $15/hr
  • Schedule: 40-hour week: typically 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday-Friday
  • Length of Internship: 3 months with the potential to convert to a full-time opportunity based on employer demand
  • Location: Bentonville, Arkansas, Hybrid Schedule (3 days in office)

Our Must Haves:
  • Current Arkansas state resident
  • Ability to pass a standard background check
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week, following the three-month internship
  • Ability to work full-time in the United States without a current or future need for visa sponsorship
  • High curiosity and interest in learning new technologies and growing or starting your IT career
  • Technical aptitude exhibited through projects, experience, or online learning and the ability to communicate what you know

$15 - $15 an hour
How does the interview process work? Apprenticely will conduct an initial phone interview and assessment. Apprenticely will send selected resumes to companies that match the candidate's skills and interests.
