Job description

Position Title: Graphic Design Intern
Location: Paterson, NJ / Hybrid
Department: Creative & Marketing
Duration: Summer (May-August)
Compensation: Unpaid (For College Credits)
About the Role
The New Jersey Jackals are seeking a passionate and motivated Graphic Design Intern to join our Creative and Marketing team for the summer season. This internship is ideal for a Graphic Design, Web Design, or Fine Arts student with a strong understanding of visual storytelling, branding, and digital design. As a Graphic Design Intern, you'll gain hands-on experience creating dynamic visual content that brings the excitement of Jackals baseball to life across marketing campaigns, game-day promotions, community initiatives, and fan engagement efforts. You'll collaborate closely with our creative team to produce real-world assets used throughout the season in both digital and in-ballpark settings.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the creative team in developing graphic assets for game-day promotions, social media, website updates, merchandise, and in-stadium displays
  • Assist in creating and maintaining Jackals brand guidelines and visual identity across all platforms
  • Learn how design assets are applied across marketing channels including digital, print, and ballpark signage
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions for promotional nights, themed events, and seasonal campaigns
  • Help prepare mockups, presentations, and creative materials for internal use and external promotions
  • Contribute to a variety of creative projects aligned with team branding, fan engagement, and overall marketing strategy

Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Graphic Design, Web Design, Fine Arts, or a related field
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.)
  • Must have access to Adobe Creative Suite software and personal design equipment (e.g., laptop/tablet)
  • Strong visual design skills, with attention to detail, color, and layout
  • Basic understanding of branding principles and digital asset management
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, game-driven environment
  • Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Availability to assist during evenings and weekends for games and events as needed
  • Passion for baseball, sports marketing, and fan experience

Nice to Have
  • Familiarity with motion graphics, video editing, or scoreboard/LED content design
  • Experience with web design principles or UI/UX design
  • Experience using tools like Canva, Shopify, or similar platforms
