Description

In this role, you'll contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality electrical engineering projects, meeting technical standards, timelines, and budgets. You'll support project leaders in technical studies, investigations, reports, and the design of electrical systems such as lighting, power, emergency power, low voltage, and fire alarm distribution systems. 


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Create detailed system drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
  • Perform lighting system calculations and specify associated controls.
  • Complete and document energy compliance calculations and forms.
  • Conduct load analyses at various stages of design.
  • Participate in project site visits to assess conditions and monitor progress to align with design specs, client expectations, and building codes.
  • Prepare condition assessments, technical reports, proposals, submittals, and bidding documents.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with internal teams, project leaders, and external consultants, contractors, clients, and owners.
  • Attend design coordination meetings with clients and team members as needed.
  • Show a commitment to advancing technical and project management skills.
  • Represent our firm at professional events to enhance our industry reputation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Passed or registered for the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, with an intent to become a Professional Engineer.
  • Previous internship(s) or relevant experience preferred.
  • Solid understanding of power, lighting, low voltage, and fire alarm distribution systems, with the ability to assist senior engineers.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NFPA 70), National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code (NFPA 72), and state building codes.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and SKM software.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites as needed (10%-20% of the time), including periodic overnight stays.
