Job description

Title: Construction Project Manager – Seismic Projects
Location: Aurora, IL
Hire Type: Direct Hire
Salary: $90,000 – $100,000+ (flexible for the right candidate)

Sterling Engineering is looking for a Construction Project Manager to support seismic construction projects. This opportunity is with a growing team managing multiple concurrent commercial projects including hospitals and data centers.

Job Duties:
  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 18 active seismic construction projects in various phases.
  • Oversee projects through the full lifecycle from planning through completion.
  • Review blueprints and coordinate MEP-related project components.
  • Manage schedules, approvals, documentation, and client communication.
  • Balance multiple projects with varying timelines (typical turnaround ~90 days).
  • Collaborate with engineering partners, estimators, and internal teams.
  • Maintain strong client-facing communication and provide project updates.
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years of construction project management experience OR strong construction-related internships.
  • Experience interpreting construction drawings and MEP systems required.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams and clients.
  • Proficiency with computers and project documentation tools.
  • Experience with Bluebeam preferred; CAD or Revit experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work onsite in Aurora, IL.
