Role Description The Model Maker is a full-time, on-site role based in Hebron, IL, responsible for creating physical models and prototypes that support product development and customer presentations. Daily tasks include interpreting drawings and design specifications, building scale and full-size models, and operating machining and hand tools to shape and assemble parts. The Model Maker collaborates with designers and engineers to refine concepts, recommend construction methods, and ensure models accurately represent design intent. This role also involves maintaining a clean, safe workspace, tracking materials used, and performing basic equipment checks and adjustments. The Model Maker may assist in improving prototyping processes and documenting build steps for future repeat production.
Qualifications
  • Ability to perform hands-on model building and prototyping, including assembling, shaping, and finishing components.
  • Proficiency with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools and reading technical drawings to translate concepts into physical models.
