SUMMARY
We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Sales Intern(s) to join our sales team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in sales and business development. You will work closely with our experienced inside sales professionals (Account Executives), learning about lead generation, customer relationship management, and sales strategies.
LOCATION
Onsite at HexArmor Corporate Headquarters in Grand Rapids, Michigan (640 Leffingwell Ave. NE Grand Rapids, MI)
SCHEDULE
This is a 14-week, full-time internship beginning May 17, 2027. Interns will work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during our standard business hours of 8:30am to 5:00pm.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead Generation: Assist in identifying and qualifying potential leads through various channels, including online research, social media, and lead databases.
  • Customer Outreach: Support the sales team by reaching out to prospects via phone, email, and social media to schedule meetings and follow up on initial inquiries.
  • Sales Support: Provide administrative support to the sales team, including preparing sales presentations, managing customer information in CRM systems (Salesforce.com), and tracking sales metrics.
  • Market Research: Conduct research to gather insights about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to support sales strategies.
  • Reporting: Assist in preparing sales reports and analyzing data to track performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Training and Development: Participate in sales training sessions and team meetings to enhance your knowledge of sales processes and techniques.
  • Collaboration: Assist with various projects with other departments as needed throughout the internship program.

KEY PROJECTS
Throughout the internship, interns will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful business initiatives, which may include:
  • Revive Sales Opportunities: Re-engage closed or lost opportunities by researching accounts, identifying new opportunities, and supporting follow-up outreach.
  • Participate in a Sales Competition: Compete in an in-house sales competition designed to strengthen sales, communication, and product knowledge.
  • Complete an Industry Research & Prospecting Project: Research an assigned industry and sales territory, identify product opportunities, and develop a targeted prospecting strategy and sales recommendations for an Account Executive using Salesforce, LinkedIn, Geopointe, and other internal resources.
  • Present a Go-to-Market Strategy: Collaborate with fellow interns on a capstone project to develop and present a go-to-market strategy for a new product or business initiative to company leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Sales, Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field with an anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028.
  • Prior sales or customer related experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with clients and team members effectively.
  • Desire and ability to work in fast-paced environment and be part of a high-performance team.
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and maintain attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn and use CRM (Salesforce.com) as well as SAP Business One (order management).
