Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) โ€“ Skilled Nursing Facility
Location: Highland Chateau Health + Rehabilitation, St. Paul, MN
Department: Nursing Services
Reports To: Director of Nursing (DON) / Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)
Job Type: Full Time, Part Time, PRN
Shift: Days, Evenings, Overnight

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our clinical team in a skilled nursing facility setting. The RN is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to residents, supervising nursing staff, and ensuring compliance with care plans, physician orders, and regulatory standards. This role is critical in promoting resident health, safety, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct nursing care to residents according to individualized care plans

  • Supervise and support Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and other care team members

  • Assess residentsโ€™ health status and document observations and interventions accurately

  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers

  • Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members, residents, and families

  • Communicate effectively with physicians and allied health professionals regarding resident status and care needs

  • Respond to and manage medical emergencies and acute changes in condition

  • Ensure proper documentation, charting, and compliance with all regulatory requirements

  • Participate in care conferences, quality improvement activities, and in-service education

  • Promote a safe, clean, and supportive environment for residents and staff

Qualifications:
  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Minnesota

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (Associate or Bachelorโ€™s degree)

  • CPR/BLS certification (required)

  • Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing facility preferred

  • Excellent clinical judgment, leadership, and communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

The Registered Nurse responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing direct patient care in accordance with state, federal, and facility guidelines

  • Provide general nursing care to patients in accordance with the facilityโ€™s nursing policy and procedure

  • Addressing problems identified in the patient care plan for Nurse review

Qualifications & Skills of Registered Nurse

  • Current license by the Minnesota Board of Nursing to practice as a Registered Nurse

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form

  • Ability to interact with a variety of people and foster a team philosophy

  • Ability to negotiate and interact effectively with staff, patients, families, and professional/regulatory agents
