Position Overview
The Assisted Living Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) supports the Community Wellness Director by providing direct nursing care, supervising nursing team members, and ensuring resident care meets physician orders, regulatory requirements, and Solera quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care and oversee care delivered by assigned team members
  • Administer medications, treatments, and procedures, complete required documentation
  • Monitor resident health status and respond to changes in condition
  • Assist with care plan development, reassessments, and resident move-ins
  • Supervise, coach, and evaluate assigned team members
  • Communicate daily updates to the Community Wellness Director
  • Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
  • Respond to emergencies and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
  • Maintain accurate resident records and uphold Residents' Rights
  • Promote a culture of hospitality, professionalism, and teamwork

Required Qualifications & Licensure
  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing (state-specific)
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in senior living, assisted living, or long-term care
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of medication administration, care planning, and regulatory compliance
  • Strong communication, organization, and clinical judgment skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedules as needed, including occasional evenings or weekends
