The Trucking Division is looking for a Senior Business Developer to help manage agency relationships in the Southeast, Midwest, and Northwestern regions. This position will be fully remote with the expectation of travel of 1-2 weeks per month. Candidates located in these regions is highly desired.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Develops strategic marketing plans, considering agency strengths, competitors, and market conditions.

  • Identifies and secures profitable new business opportunities in target markets and develops and implements strategic plans, resulting in a specified increase in market share.

  • Cultivates and maintains strong relationships with key agencies by providing tailored insurance solutions that meet their specific needs, leading to an increase in agency retention and satisfaction. Educates agencies on product features, market placement, and effective selling techniques.

  • Drives revenue growth by achieving or exceeding sales targets. May develop and execute cross-selling and up-selling strategies

  • Conducts market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats, informing strategic decision-making.

  • Prospect for New Agency appointments within assigned territory. Find, onboard, and develop new agency relationships.

  • Attend truck conferences throughout the year with occasional (rare) weekend travel.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree is preferred, and a minimum of 5 years of related underwriting or business development experience is required.

  • Previous trucking or commercial auto experience is strongly preferred.

  • Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills.

  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory.
