Together, we're united in our Christian mission and these shared values: We're motivated by our faith, we support one another, we champion justice, we pursue excellence, and we're in it for the long haul. As a National Director of Philanthropy, you'll help carry this mission forward and make a meaningful impact every day.
How Your Role Makes a Difference

  • Lead the team in expanding fundraising skills and staying current with philanthropic trends and best practices through networking and training;
  • In coordination with the Chief Development Officer, leverage CEO and local relationships with staff, Board, and stakeholders to build key donor and partner relationships;
  • Collaborate to create a robust inventory of funding opportunities and proposals aligned with mission-critical priorities;
  • Attend required meetings and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders;
  • Travel to leadership meetings or donor appointments as necessary;
  • Represent Bethany and its core values in all forms of communication;
  • Participate in Bethany-sponsored events as required;
  • Essential job responsibilities may vary based on the specific needs of each program/department;
  • May be required or asked to participate in a Bethany sponsored event;
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

What Will Make You Successful

  • A successful track record raising significant gifts from donors using a variety of funding strategies;
  • Prior experience with a CRM system such as Raisers Edge;
  • Experience in child/family welfare agency, a plus;
  • Demonstrated ability with establishing relationships both in person and virtually;
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills;
  • High ability to work with different stakeholders and teams;
  • Able to work independently and as a part of a team;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Must possess strong multi-tasking and project management skills;
  • Must be analytical and agile in an evolving work environment;
  • Possess an understanding of, and strong commitment to, Bethany's faith values and unique identity;
  • Must have a high level of personal and professional integrity, including the ability to maintain confidentiality regarding donor profiles and personal information;
