Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting thorough mental health evaluations to assess the psychological needs of patients.
  • Implementing crisis interventions as necessary to stabilize patients in distress.
  • Determining appropriate levels of mental health care and coordinating with other health professionals for referrals as needed.
  • Leading group therapy sessions focused on mental health improvement and coping strategies.
  • Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and interactions in adherence to organizational protocols.
  • Participating in clinical supervision with your Clinical Supervisor at least once weekly to enhance your professional development.
  • Collaborating with external entities, such as the Department of Corrections, to ensure seamless access to care for involved patients.
  • Participating in interdisciplinary team discussions and case conferences to optimize patient care strategies.
  • Possibly conducting psychological testing and supervising interns or student volunteers in therapeutic practices.

Qualifications
