• Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' mental health needs, evaluating emotional, behavioral, and academic impacts.
• Develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based interventions aimed at improving student mental health.
• Implement therapeutic techniques, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy, tailored to the individual needs of each student.
• Maintain accurate and confidential clinical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring that all documentation reflects the highest standards of care.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including educators, school counselors, and parents, to provide holistic care and support to students.
• Engage in continuous professional development by staying updated on the latest trends and research in mental health.

As a social worker in a school setting, your primary focus will be on students ranging from elementary to high school age. You will assist children and adolescents coping with various issues, including emotional disturbances, trauma from adverse childhood experiences, and challenges related to peer relationships and academic pressure. You will be instrumental in facilitating a supportive atmosphere that promotes mental health awareness and resilience among students.

• Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• A valid LCSW license in the state of New York is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical social work experience, with a focus on mental health.
• Demonstrated proficiency in psychotherapy interventions and evidence-based practices.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively connect with students, families, and staff.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, contributing to a positive and inclusive team culture.

• Experience working in school settings or with children and adolescents is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with school systems and resources available for students and families.
• Training in trauma-informed care and cultural competence.
