In this role, you will work from a climate-controlled home office, engaging in daily interactions through virtual meetings and communications with both department members and other healthcare providers. While your work setting is remote, our collaboration strategies ensure a supportive network, leveraging technology for communications and counseling to facilitate effective service delivery to our patients.

• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to diagnose mental health needs using tools like the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), creating individualized treatment plans that respect cultural diversity and address each patient's specific requirements.
• Monitor and evaluate patient progress continually while providing evidence-based interventions tailored to support mental health diagnoses.
• Maintain accurate and timely records, including treatment plans, progress notes, and other clinical documents, while adhering to regulatory standards and departmental policies.
• Collaborate with patients and their families to craft comprehensive treatment strategies that align with their goals and desired outcomes.
• Design and implement treatment plans in partnership with patients, anticipating potential safety issues and working actively to reduce symptoms.
• Facilitate referrals within the healthcare system, serving as a liaison between patients and other treatment providers to enhance care continuity.
• Engage in mentoring and educational opportunities for students, interns, and other healthcare trainees, thereby fostering the next generation of mental health professionals.
• Under clinical supervision, participate in peer reviews, support team development through coaching and mentoring, and contribute to the overall improvement of clinical practices.

This role primarily focuses on patients experiencing the emotional and psychological repercussions of a cancer diagnosis. You will provide support to individuals and their families, understanding the complexities of cancer treatment, coping strategies, and the associated mental health challenges. This client population often requires sensitive, informed therapeutic approaches tailored to their unique experiences, thus your ability to empathize and establish trust is vital.

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Current State License as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Florida.

• Experience working with oncological patients and their families is highly desirable, allowing for a deeper understanding of their unique challenges.
• Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic modalities applicable in a school setting is beneficial.
• Previous experience in remote counseling environments is a plus, demonstrating adaptability in delivering effective therapy through digital platforms.
