Internship Overview
The Home Depot's Summer Internship program offers college students an opportunity to develop leadership skills and gain hands on experience in a corporate environment. During an 11 - week period from May 17- July 30, 2027, interns will be assigned to a functional team such as Supply Chain, Marketing, e-commerce, Technology, Finance, Operations, Merchandising, Pro, Home Services, Human Resources, etc. Interns will learn more about our retail business and our corporate offices while having the opportunity to work on a pre-assigned project that impacts the function they are supporting. Additionally, interns participate in networking and development activities that set them up for success as they build their careers.

Description of the Major/Subject Area:
Cybersecurity Interns will gain a combination of technical and analytical skills that help detect cybersecurity threats in real time environments. Interns will have the opportunity to focus in one or more of the following areas: Application and Network Security, Cyber Forensics and Crisis Management, Smart Device Security and Security Analytics.
Interns should be pursuing a Bachelor of Science/Business Administration with a concentration in Cybersecurity, computer science, information systems, information security, math, decision sciences, risk management, engineering or other business/technology disciplines.
Tasks, responsibilities, and key accountabilities include:
  • Deploying various technologies to establish data privacy and security controls

  • Helping to improve application security

  • Managing system and software vulnerabilities

  • Establishing methods for securing connected or "smart" devices

  • Developing advanced cyber monitoring and security analytics solutions

  • Establishing cyber crisis management capabilities

  • Designing and delivering business-focused cyber wargames to prepare our clients with advanced techniques for responding to continually evolving cyber-attacks

  • Providing cyber forensics and incident response support

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a relevant degree

  • 0-1 years of relevant work experience

  • Interest in working as part of a collaborative, cross-functional team of engineers

  • General knowledge of security fundamentals

  • Solid understanding of Internet fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP)

  • Familiarity with and some ability to code

  • Preferred GPA 3.0 or above
